Born in Coimbra, Portugal; immigrating to Johannesburg, South Africa with his mother at the age of six. After school, he enjoyed a career in marketing, communications and brand management before joining the Jesuits in 2007. He has studied communications in South Africa, philosophy in the UK, theology in Brazil and journalism at the prestigious Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, USA. Passionate about liturgical music, media and ethics and takes especial delight in good company and food. As a Jesuit, he has ministered in many different contexts: the elderly, high school and university students, refugees, migrants and the homeless.
